Student email accounts |

Every Reid Kerr student has a unique Microsoft Live@edu email address. These instructions show you how to set up your email account so that you can send and receive email.
Before using your college email account for the first time you must change your network password:
- Log on to any computer in the college
- Press the following three keys at the same time - "Ctrl", "Alt", "Delete"
- Select "Change Password..."
- Type your current password in "Old password"
- Type your new password in "New password" (NOTE this can be the same as you old password)
- Type your new password in "Confirm new password"
- Click on "OK" to save the changed password
You can now log on to Microsoft Live@edu and set up your account:

- In the email address box, type in your email address. This is based on your network username. For example if your network username was 20091234 then your login would be
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- In the password box, type in your password. This is the same as your College network password.
You will now be asked to enter some basic profile details (fields marked with an asterisk must be completed):
- You must select a secret question and secret answer – these will be used to identify you if you forget your password.
- You must fill in your country and post code. You can fill in your own Post Code, or if you wish you can use the College’s Post Code which is PA3 4DR.
Finally you must set the language and time zone:
- Select "Mail" from the menu.

- Select the language and time zone (GMT (Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London). Note that there is an option for people with low vision.
- Click on "OK"
You are now ready to start using your college email account.
When you are logged in to your account select "Mail" from the menu.

You are now presented with the Mail screen for Outlook Web Access. From this you can send mail, use your calendar, and via contacts create groupings of other mail users.
You can also use this account to receive and send mail on behalf of other accounts.

To send an email, click on New and type in the email address of the recipient, the subject of the email and your message.

Now click on Send
Also available with your account is a Sky Drive with 25 Gb of on-line storage space which can be used to store documents pictures, and email. This part of the system can be used to securely share selected documents and data with users and groups or the entire internet.
The My Documents and Favourites folders are for your own private documents. No-one else can see them, and you can access them from home as well as from inside the College. The Shared Favourites folder is to share files with people you know, and the Public folder is for files you want everyone to see.
There are many other features including, instant messaging, and photo sharing and free downloads.
